I’ve been designing a module for Architecture students: ‘Exploring architecture through photography’ We are three weeks into the eight week module so far.
The first three weeks have covered practical matters: lighting, perspective, scale, detail, materials, angles of view, colour etc. This week we’ll put all of this into practice on a small scale by photographing architectural models.
Next week will start with validity, truth and manipulation in photography. Later we’ll be examining alternatives to traditional architectural photography, as well as the mediation of architecture through those conventions. Finally we’ll cover how to convey architecture as an experiential encounter.
